Unit 1 Review
Please use the following link to study for the Unit 1 test in Reading.
*Note: Reading exams are based on applied knowledge of TEKS. This means that students won't be asked to memorize different formulas or definitions; students will be asked to apply what they know to questions and answers. They will be given a passage and will need to understand what they have just read in order to answer the questions correctly. STAAR test will be focused on making inferences. This means that they are asked to choose the best answer that fits with what they just read. The answer will not be explicitly stated, rather, it will be implied. The BEST way to master this skill is to read with your child and ask them questions about what they have read, what the author's purpose is, what they think the author meant, what they predict will happen next, etc. This year we will focus on Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, and Drama. *
