Upcoming ELU
Dear Parents,
This quarter our 5th Grade students will be participating in a special ELU for their reading class. The theme of this Engaged Learning Unit is Holidays Around the World. Students will choose a country to research and will be asked to create a newsletter that encompasses the different types of text that we have learned about, so far, in 5th Grade Reading.
In addition to this newsletter, students will work together to create a visual presentation that will be used during our Holidays Around the World gallery walk. This event will take place on Thursday, December 13, from 6:30-8:00 PM at Sunnyvale Middle School in the garage area. It will be a wonderful event that will include caroling, refreshments, and a very special guest.
Thank you very much for your support and involvement. We can’t wait to see the work of our students presented to you!
Students will be sent home with instructions and rubric on Monday, November 12. Please let us know if you have any questions.
With Holiday Cheer,
Mrs. Clayton and Mrs. Monaghan
